| The Club's Position on CCW | |
We are all adults and are willing to assume responsibility for our own actions, conduct and behavior. We are a gun club…or shooting club, if you prefer. It is a place where men and women gather to shoot real guns with live ammunition at targets, moving and/or stationary. They gather to touch, examine and handle guns and talk about them, the ammunition they use and the targets they have obliterated or alternatively, have missed. This can be a dangerous pursuit and safety is a constant goal and concern. This location is also a social arena which is licensed by the State of Wisconsin to sell and persons may consume fermented alcoholic beverages. The men and women who come here to shoot and talk about shooting and guns are also able to refresh themselves with a beverage of their choosing from the many available to them. Safety remains a constant goal and concern. The State of Wisconsin has recently enacted legislation allowing certain licensed citizens to carry concealed weapons on their persons. Among the many prohibitions listed regarding the carrying of concealed weapons is that it is prohibited to consume alcoholic beverages while carrying concealed on your person a firearm, knife or electronic weapon. That’s right: YOU CAN CARRY BUT YOU CAN’T CONSUME ALCOHOL. YOU CAN BE IN A BAR OR TAVERN WHERE ALCOHOL IS BEING CONSUMED, BUT IF YOU ARE CARRYING THE CONCEALED WEAPON OF YOUR CHOOSING, YOU MAY NOT PARTAKE. ABSOLUTE SOBRIETY. THAT IS THE LAW, NOT OUR RULE. We will not play the policeman. We will, however, encourage responsibility and we will demand compliance with the law on club grounds. IF YOU WANT TO DRINK ANYTHING OTHER THAN SODA, LEAVE YOUR GUN IN YOUR CAR OR AT HOME. IF YOU WANT TO CARRY YOUR GUN ON THESE PREMISES, YOU ARE WELCOME TO DO SO; IT IS, AFTER ALL, A GUN CLUB. BUT DO NOT CONSUME ANY ALCOHOL. YOU ARE THE ADULT; YOU KNOW THE LAW; THE RESPONSIBILITY IS YOURS. PLEASE DO NOT INVITE THE WRATH OF THE LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMUNITY ON THIS CLUB OR ON THE REST OF US. |

| Rimfire Bench Rest Matches | |
The club will be holding 22 Rimfire Benchrest matches in 2012. We are a sanctioned to hold officially recognized ARA matches. Shooters gain national recognition within the "Shooter of the Year" program (SOTY) or travel around having fun along the way gaining points for "THE LIST". Match dates will be published when available. 22 rimfire benchrest competition tests a competitor's shooting skills from the bench at 50 yards. Classes are designed to place competitors on an equal footing. Matches are 25 record shots in 20 minutes from the bench at one target, on an open air range. ARA Rimfire Benchrest Classes Unlimited Class Rifles - Any firearm chambered for the .22 Long Rifle cartridge may be used. There are no weight limits, no classes, and no dimensional restrictions to barrels, stocks, or limits on scope magnification. Rests - Any rest may be used to shoot from the bench, so long as any such rest prevents the barreled action from being affixed to the bench in an immovable manner. Sporter Class Rifles - Any firearm chambered for the .22 Long Rifle cartridge may be used. Unlimited Scope Power. Gun and Scope shall weigh 8.5 lbs or under. No electronic or mechanically assisted triggers are permitted. Rifle must be a repeater and must be able to hold 2 or more rounds in a removable clip/magazine except for tubular fed rifles. Rounds may be fed into the chamber either by hand or from the magazine. Stock must be made of wood. Maximum stock width shall be 2.25” at the widest point of the stock. The bottom of the stock that comes into contact with the rest must be convex. The convexity must be across the entire width of the stock. This applies to the forend and the butt of the stock. Rests - One-Piece or two-piece rests are allowable of any material. Rest may not be attached to the bench. Rifle may not be attached to the rest nor the bench in any fashion that would impede the recoil of the rifle or return the rifle to battery. For more information contact: Gary |

| Clay Shooting Fees | |
Everybody is feeling the pinch. Price hikes here, there and everywhere. And, as you know, costs of doing business are ultimately passed on….like taxes….to the consumer. We lowered our shooting fees last year in order to encourage shooting and make it as reasonable as possible to shoot a round of skeet, trap or 5 stand. Well, the newly increased price of targets, aggravated by a fuel surcharge on delivery, has FORCED us to pass along a price increase. Your board of directors has sought every alternative and considered every angle, but are ultimately left with no choice but to raise the fees $.50 per round, effective at once. And we promise to keep the price down as low as possible for as long as possible. Please remember that the price increases affect each of us as well. We will expend every effort to hold the line as long as possible at every turn. |
