The Club's Position on CCW

We are all adults and are willing to assume responsibility for our own actions, conduct and behavior.

We are a gun club…or shooting club, if you prefer.  It is a place where men and women gather to shoot real guns with live ammunition at targets, moving and/or stationary.  They gather to touch, examine and handle guns and talk about them, the ammunition they use and the targets they have obliterated or alternatively, have missed. This can be a dangerous pursuit and safety is a constant goal and concern.

This location is also a social arena which is licensed by the State of Wisconsin to sell and persons may consume fermented alcoholic beverages.  The men and women who come here to shoot and talk about shooting and guns are also able to refresh themselves with a beverage of their choosing from the many available to them. Safety remains a constant goal and concern.

The State of Wisconsin has recently enacted legislation allowing certain licensed citizens to carry concealed weapons on their persons.  Among the many prohibitions listed regarding the carrying of concealed weapons is that it is prohibited to consume alcoholic beverages while carrying concealed on your person a firearm, knife or electronic weapon.  That’s right:  YOU CAN CARRY BUT YOU CAN’T CONSUME ALCOHOL.  YOU CAN BE IN A BAR OR TAVERN WHERE ALCOHOL IS BEING CONSUMED, BUT IF YOU ARE CARRYING THE CONCEALED WEAPON OF YOUR CHOOSING, YOU MAY NOT PARTAKE.  ABSOLUTE SOBRIETY.  THAT IS THE LAW, NOT OUR RULE.

We will not play the policeman.  We will, however, encourage responsibility and we will demand compliance with the law on club grounds.  IF YOU WANT TO DRINK ANYTHING OTHER THAN SODA, LEAVE YOUR GUN IN YOUR CAR OR AT HOME.  IF YOU WANT TO CARRY YOUR GUN ON THESE PREMISES, YOU ARE WELCOME TO DO SO; IT IS, AFTER ALL, A GUN CLUB. BUT DO NOT CONSUME ANY ALCOHOL.  YOU ARE THE ADULT; YOU KNOW THE LAW; THE RESPONSIBILITY IS YOURS.  PLEASE DO NOT INVITE THE WRATH OF THE LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMUNITY ON THIS CLUB OR ON THE REST OF US.

Clay Shooting Fees

Everybody is feeling the pinch. Price hikes here, there and everywhere. And, as you know, costs of doing business are ultimately passed on….like taxes….to the consumer. We lowered our shooting fees last year in order to encourage shooting and make it as reasonable as possible to shoot a round of skeet, trap or 5 stand. Well, the newly increased price of targets, aggravated by a fuel surcharge on delivery, has FORCED us to pass along a price increase. Your board of directors has sought every alternative and considered every angle, but are ultimately left with no choice but to raise the fees $.50 per round, effective at once. And we promise to keep the price down as low as possible for as long as possible. Please remember that the price increases affect each of us as well. We will expend every effort to hold the line as long as possible at every turn.
